TOSHIO SAEKI – THEMES OF REPRESSED DESIRE: THE HORROR! THE HORROR!

Often working with strong primary colours, Saeki’s uses a comic-book style that blends surrealism with shunga to great effect; he chooses nightmarish, Grand Guignol themes for his extraordinary, frequently challenging, compositions. This may not be your cup of sake, but if you are able to appreciate the artist’s unrelenting black humour and the brilliance of his seemingly limitless imagination, the horror becomes rather less disturbing and certainly more intriguing. This is the first time the artist has exhibited in this country. Works are for sale, starting at an incredibly reasonable £80. For a sneak preview, visit our gallery section: TOSHIO SAEKI
