Richard O’Brien

Richard O’Brien’s first poetry pamphlet, your own devices, was published in 2009 by tall-lighthouse press. His work has appeared in The Salt Book of Younger Poets, and he has performed in venues across the country, including a set at the Ledbury Festival. He is a recent graduate and currently works in France. Later in 2012, he took part in a touring show organised by Jaybird Live Literature: http://gazelikeanastronaut.wordpress.com/

His first novel, Wayback is a historical novel about the present, and was largely written at the Villa Sarkia residency for young writers in Sysmä, Finland. Subsequent chapters chart museum intern Darren Crystal’s personal and professional decline, through the evidence of his digital afterlife. Richard is currently seeking representation for the full manuscript.
